Weight, lifting a light ball, part 2

Here’s the part 2 of the lightweight ball lift/pick up.

It’s not quite right yet. Tomorrow I’ll correct the torso and hips, and possibly the head too. After that I’ll do the finesse.

Still lots of work!

Weight, lifthing a light rock

First animation on weight. This one’s lifting a light rock. It’s from yesterday but I couldn’t post it, so here it is now.

I’m using a script I created to work with biped in stepped mode. It plays back and renders the animation in stepped mode. It’s quite useful. I’ll post it properly on the blog when I can, otherwise you can head over there: http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/stepped-playback

So this is the blocked stage

It’s taking me much longer to create very simple animations and I certainly did not plan this… It took me 2 days (around 10 hours or more) to create the previous jump animation and this one’s no different. I originally planned a day for those. We’ll see how it turns out later this year, but for right now I’m ahead of my animation counts.

The jump, final

So this animation is supposed to show how you can get more “change” by going from a stretched pose to a squashed pose, or from a straight line of action to a curved line of action.

There are a couple of things wrong with this animation, as usual :P . Most obvious is the lack of planning. I could have spent more time planning and on the blocking stage. I also really don’t like how his left leg ended up. I tried to have him lift his left foot, jumping on only one foot, but I didn’t quite manage to get it right.

Oh yeah, he’s missing an eye… Technical problems, lol.

The jump, part 2

Here’s the second part of the jump. It’s almost done actually, what’s left are some corrections on the head, face animation and hands/fingers animations. Tomorrow I’ll post the final clip.
